The start of something big...

Updated: Mar 6, 2021

Over the first few months of our time here at Infinite Leap, we have been faced with many struggles and challenges. Setting up a company and all the tasks that come with that is never easy, let alone in the middle of a global pandemic.

After much deliberation and conversation we decided that we wanted to sell jewelry. We felt that affordable jewelry, whilst still maintaining a quality product would be the best course of action, and would hopefully bring in a large amount of sales, allowing us to turnover a profit.

Having collectively come to an agreement on our product, it was time for us to get the ball rolling. We scoured the internet for products that fit our description; some were too expensive for our budget, many were too cheap and wouldn't allow us to guarantee our intended quality, some too big, others too small, many didn't fit the requirements we put in place in terms of location and transport costs. At many points throughout we doubted if we were ever going to land on that magic formula; wanting a wide range of jewelry including anklets, charms and necklaces it seemed unlikely on multiple occasions that we were going to succeed in our mission until, finally, we hit the bullseye.

With our newly acquired collections (all of which can be found on our website), we were faced with the task of pricing. Many hours of work from our finance team, gave us the platform we needed to make calculated choices on prices, taking into account our desired profit margin, and product purchase prices.

Seemingly out of nowhere, we now had our products, a list of prices and were almost ready to start selling. One thing remained - our company name. Although it may seem that our products are much more appealing to females, as a mixed gender team, we also felt that it would be a mistake to ignore the other half of the population. We felt that a market often overlooked within the jewelry industry was gifts. Therefore, we wanted to be a company that men could feel comfortable to come to and purchase products to gift to their partners. This ruled any feminine name out of the running. We wanted a name that would reflect our reliance, our inclusiveness and our togetherness - infinite.

Having overcome many of the challenges, one thing was left for us to do in our first term in charge of the company. With no trade fairs due to the covid-19 pandemic, LEAP Enterprise decided that we should do a video to replace this. We were given certain questions we should answer in the video and a set timeframe, however the rest of it was up to us. Without giving much away, we chose the more inventive route, and managed to achieve a third place finish which we were incredibly proud of!

Thanks for reading.
